Description |
One of twenty-two mural panels extracted from the James Norton House, 7 Norton Place, East Baldwin, ME and painted by Jonathan Poor, Rufus Porter's nephew. Original location: Second floor best bedroom, exterior gable end plaster wall opposite the door to the room. The lower panel is the dado section below the window. The face of this panel is inboard of the upper panel, which sits on the back edge of the 7x7 beam. These murals are among the latest of Poor's walls and have been described as the most elaborately detailed Poor murals documented to date. |
