Painted walls in the parlor of the Nathan Church House. These painted walls (c. 1828) are a fine example of murals that are in situ ("in the original place"). Porter was not known for signing his work so it is common practice to say that these walls were done by the Rufus Porter School or done in the style of Rufus Porter. It is well known that his nephew, Jonathan Poor, painted utilizing his style (examples in the other room) as well as others. ...
